What to know about this tool

Up to 20 images, 25 MB and 16 megapixels each; 40 MB and 24 megapixels total. A visual overview, not a print/color proof. Output PNG is limited to 16 megapixels.

Animated files are processed as a still image. Re-encoding may change color profiles and metadata.

Instructions and examples

From input to output

  1. Add the images in the order you want them displayed.
  2. Set Cell width, Columns, Gap and Background.
  3. Select Create contact sheet and inspect the resulting PNG.

Settings and result behavior

  • Tiles are square and sources fit inside them with proportions preserved. No edges are deliberately cropped.
  • Gap appears between tiles and around the grid. Background fills unused tile space; filenames are not printed on the sheet.

A worked example

Input
Four square images in the queue.
Settings
Cell width 200; Columns 2; Gap 10.
Expected result
A 430 × 430 PNG with a two-by-two grid.

Supported input and limits

Choose PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or BMP that your browser can decode. Animated sources are processed as a still image. Re-encoding can change metadata and color rendering. This produces one PNG overview.

Up to 20 images, 25 MB and 16 megapixels each; 40 MB and 24 megapixels total. A visual overview, not a print/color proof. Output PNG is limited to 16 megapixels.

If the result is unexpected

  • If thumbnails are too small, increase Cell width or reduce Columns.
  • If the canvas exceeds 16 megapixels, reduce tile size or the number of images.

Check before using the result

Check the queue order and that every image appears. The sheet is useful for selection, but is not a print or color proof.
