The image is re-encoded, which can affect quality and remove transparency. This is not a byte-preserving metadata editor. Up to 25 MB per file and 16 megapixels input/output.
Animated files are processed as a still image. Re-encoding may change color profiles and metadata.
Instructions and examples
From input to output
- Choose a JPEG file.
- Set JPEG quality and select Create clean JPEG.
- Inspect the re-encoded copy and download it as a new JPEG.
Settings and result behavior
- The tool draws decoded pixels into a new image. It does not edit only EXIF fields in place.
- Quality controls lossy re-encoding; a larger number does not guarantee a smaller file.
A worked example
- Input
A 1200 × 800 JPEG photograph.
- Settings
- JPEG quality: 90.
- Expected result
A newly encoded 1200 × 800 JPEG without the source metadata stream; its bytes and appearance may differ.
Supported input and limits
JPEG input and JPEG output. Browser decoding applies orientation; original EXIF, metadata and color-profile data are not copied.

If the result is unexpected
- If color or orientation differs, compare the original and export before sharing.
- Use a dedicated metadata inspector if you need to audit particular fields. This tool does not display an EXIF removal checklist.
Check before using the result
Check appearance and use an appropriate inspector for a sensitive release. Information visible in the photograph itself is not removed.
