Image Resizer: Change Pixels or Percentage
Set pixels or a percentage, keep proportions, or choose fit, padding and center crop before exporting images.
Choose images and set dimensions. Keep proportions to avoid stretching.
Instructions and examples
From input to output
- Choose images and wait for their dimensions to appear.
- Choose Pixels or Percentage. For Pixels, set Width or Height with Lock aspect ratio on, or unlock it and choose the fit behavior.
- Select Resize images, inspect each preview and reported size, then download the reviewed files.
Settings and result behavior
- With the aspect ratio locked, the last dimension you edit controls each image; displayed dimensions describe the first file.
- When unlocked, Fit inside can make a smaller canvas, Contain adds padding and Center crop fills the chosen canvas by cutting edges.
- Percentage scales both dimensions. Output format, quality and JPEG background affect the exported appearance and size.
A worked example
- Input
A 1600 × 900 JPEG landscape photo.
- Settings
- Pixels; Lock aspect ratio on; edit Width to 800 px.
- Expected result
An 800 × 450 image in the selected output format.
Supported input and limits
Still JPEG, PNG and WebP input; JPEG, PNG or WebP output. Presets set a canvas with Contain padding. Larger dimensions do not recover missing detail.
Up to 20 still JPEG, PNG or WebP files, 25 MB and 16 megapixels each; 40 MB and 24 megapixels combined. Upscaling does not add detail. JPEG flattens transparency; re-encoding discards original metadata. Browser orientation and color rendering can differ. Review each result.
If the result is unexpected
- If the subject is cut off, use Contain or Fit inside instead of Center crop.
- If output exceeds the pixel limit, reduce both dimensions or the percentage. A small compressed source can still decode to a large image.
Check before using the result
Check every file’s dimensions, subject placement and padding. Batch sources with different proportions produce different sizes when locked.

Questions about this tool
How do I resize without stretching?
Keep Lock aspect ratio enabled and set one dimension. Use fit or padding when both dimensions must be fixed. Upscaling cannot recover image detail.
