WebP to JPG Converter
Convert still WebP images to JPEG with a chosen quality and an explicit background for transparent pixels.
Choose still WebP images and a background color for transparent pixels.
Instructions and examples
From input to output
- Choose still WebP files and wait for inspection.
- Set quality and JPEG background; JPEG cannot keep transparent pixels.
- Select Convert to JPG, review each JPEG preview and download individual files or a ZIP.
Settings and result behavior
- Higher quality often retains more detail at a larger file size.
- The background color becomes part of the image. Choose a color that suits the place you will display it.
A worked example
- Input
A transparent 600 × 400 WebP illustration.
- Settings
- Quality 90; JPEG background #ffffff.
- Expected result
A 600 × 400 JPEG with white behind the transparent areas.
Supported input and limits
Genuine still WebP input and JPEG output. File contents are checked; renaming a different format to .webp does not convert it. Original metadata is not retained.
Still WebP only; actual file format is checked. Up to 20 files, 25 MB and 16 megapixels each; 40 MB and 24 megapixels combined. JPEG flattens transparency onto the chosen background and uses lossy compression. Original metadata is not preserved.
If the result is unexpected
- Animated WebP is declined. Export a still frame with an appropriate image editor first.
- For halos around an illustration, try a background matching the destination or keep a transparent PNG/WebP instead.
Check before using the result
Inspect edges, color and small text. Confirm the actual JPEG size meets the destination’s requirements.

Questions about this tool
What happens to transparent WebP pixels?
JPEG does not support transparency. Choose the background color and check the preview. Only still WebP files are supported, and the JPEG export uses lossy compression.
